Alpine Campground has been family owned and operated by the original founders and owners for 50 years!

Tucked in on the north side of U.S. Highway 2, between Bessemer and Wakefield on the Western end of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, and right alongside the Black River, Alpine is a serene little piece of heaven just off the beaten path.  Roomy sites with plenty of space to enjoy a relaxing campfire without worrying about disturbing your "neighbors."

We have sites for tenting and also plenty of room for the big rigs to pull through without any issue

    Accomodations for All...

Whether you are pitching a tent or driving a big rig, we have sites to make everyone's camping experience a pleasure. You can stay on our sites next to the Black River, out in our open area, or nestled back in our wooded area near our natural spring-fed lake.  Many of our sites are pull-thru's so there's no need to worry about having to back up your long 5th-wheel or large motorhome.

    Full service building

Plumbed bathrooms complete with hot showers.  There is also a laundry room in case you need to wash a load or two.

Say Hello to the Alpine Welcoming Committee!

We are a dog-friendly park and our fur babies Schnuggels, Mitzi and Maggi are always here at our RV Park waiting to greet our customers!

^^^Most river sites are tent sites, so NO sewer hook-ups are available in this area, but there are a few sites with 20 AMP electricity and water available.

^^^Sites in our Open Area do not have sewer hook-ups. However, all but 2 of them have electricity and water available.

^^^Our full hook-up sites are located in the more heavily wooded section of our park. All sites have water, sewer, and electricity---with the exception of a couple tent sites.

Skiers, Snowboarders, Snowmobilers and Cross-Country Skiers all welcome!

There are several ski hills near Alpine, and Blackjack Mountain borders our campground property so you could say it is right in our backyard.  Indianhead Mountain is only 3 miles away from us and Big Powderhorn Mountain is only 6.4 miles from us.  Whitecap Mountain is a little further away from us at 21.7 miles but worth the drive, nonetheless. There are also snowmobile trails and cross country ski trails nearby, as well.

During winter months, there is electricity available at sites and running water at the heated service building.  Our service building has flushing toilets, hot showers and a laundromat.

    Copper Peak

Hosted the Red Bull Challenge 400 in May of 2018!  It's the ONLY ski flying hill outside of Europe.   After an 800-foot chair lift ride to the crest of the hill — a 360-foot copper-bearing volcanic outcrop — visitors take a thrilling 18-story elevator to the main observation deck. From there, the truly fearless can walk an additional 8 stories to the top starting gate.  Just a 15 minute drive from Alpine.

    Waterfalls of the Western U.P.

Great Conglomerate Falls, Potawatomi Falls, Gorge Falls, Sandstone Falls, Rainbow Falls, Powderhorn Falls, Gabbro Falls, Nawadaha Falls, Manabezho Falls, Shining Cloud Falls...just to name a few! There are more than 30 different waterfalls in the Western U.P. and near the Wisconsin border.

    Black River Harbor

Known for its spectacular waterfalls, idyllic beaches, scenic hiking trails and it's huge suspension bridge.  Black River Harbor is also under 20 minutes from Alpine.

    Hiawatha "World's Tallest Indian Statue"

He stands 52 feet tall and is only around 8 minutes from Alpine!
